Butter Cream Icing

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

  • 1/2cup butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoons milk

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, shortening, and vanilla. Blend in the sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the milk, and continue mixing until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered until ready to decorate.

Thank you! The one I have has egg yolks in it. It's good, but I'd prefer not to use the raw eggs.

Your directions say to beat the butter AND shortening, but I don't see shortening in the ingredients. Is there shortening in addition to the butter?

Okay...nevermind. Just clicked on nutrition and it took me to the recipe. Got it all now!
